LGN Louis Gabriel Nouchi FW25: “1984” — Couture as Resistance

Armor, cuts, transparency — LGN’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection channels dystopia into desire.

For Fall/Winter 2025, Louis-Gabriel Nouchi turns to George Orwell’s 1984 — a story of control, conformity, and quiet rebellion — as a mirror for our time. His latest collection, “1984”, transforms that tension into a wardrobe that feels both protective and provocative.

Tailoring meets intimacy. Precision meets vulnerability. Within this duality, structured coats, lingerie-inspired layering, and architectural silhouettes become reflections of identity in flux. Every cut asks the same question: What do we choose to reveal?

Cut Against the Grain

On the runway, LGN collapsed contrasts with effortless confidence. Boxy jackets opened to reveal sheer mesh underpinnings, utility trousers met satin corsetry, and zippered tailoring exposed new shapes of sensuality.

Fabrics moved from industrial to ethereal — heavy wools, crisp poplin, translucent jersey. The palette stayed controlled: black, khaki, bone, steel. Nouchi’s obsession with form and skin translated into pieces that felt worn by real people, not performers.

Resistance, Reimagined

LGN FW25 lands in a world where fashion is once again political. Through precision cuts and tactile restraint, Nouchi turns fear into expression, uniformity into individuality. The result: garments that resist while seducing, designed for those fluent in nuance.

It’s not showmanship — it’s storytelling in motion.

The Designer Behind LGN

A graduate of La Cambre, Louis-Gabriel Nouchi began his career with Raf Simons, an influence still visible in his restraint and precision. Since launching his own label in 2017, Nouchi has built a house defined by its dialogue between literature and body language. Each collection begins with a book, a concept, a narrative — from The Stranger to 1984.

His work blurs the line between ready-to-wear and performance, always prioritizing honesty of form over spectacle. In recent years, he’s also expanded into costume design — notably creating the official outfits for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Opening Ceremony, a moment that solidified his role as one of France’s most cerebral yet accessible designers.
