The Future Low-Top Sneakers from Maison Margiela revisit an archival SS11 silhouette through the house’s experimental approach to material and construction. Crafted in white calf leather, the streamlined profile is disrupted by multicolour paint splatter across the toe and vamp, referencing the Maison’s signature painter technique. A concealed fastening system keeps the upper visually controlled, while the single white stitch at the heel introduces an unmistakable house code. Experimental, archival, and distinctly Maison Margiela.
Constructed entirely from calf leather through the upper, lining, and interior, the sneakers feature a hidden strap that folds across the tongue to conceal the laces beneath. This creates the Future’s characteristic uninterrupted profile while maintaining an adjustable fit. A tonal rubber sole grounds the silhouette, balancing the expressive painted surface with a clean monochrome foundation.
Maison Margiela challenges conventional design through anonymity, deconstruction, and the reinterpretation of archival codes.
