The Folded Clutch by MM6 Maison Margiela is a subversive exploration of form and illusion. Drawing on the Maison’s Trompe l’Oeil philosophy, the design reimagines the iconic Japanese bag through a flattened, folded silhouette that challenges conventional ideas of structure and function.
Crafted from coated polyester with a mesh-like texture, the clutch is defined by a diagonal cutout revealing a darker underlayer. A knotted flap detail with a cylindrical metallic clasp anchors the design, while subtle tonal stitching traces the edges with precision. At the back, a slim zippered pocket adds discreet functionality, finished with the Maison’s signature horizontal white stitch line.
MM6 Maison Margiela approaches accessories as conceptual objects, where perception, reduction, and transformation redefine everyday design.
