The Japanese Bag from MM6 Maison Margiela revisits the label’s emblematic triangular silhouette in a supple black faux nappa leather construction. First introduced for Autumn-Winter 2009, the design draws inspiration from the Japanese art of origami, translating folded geometry into a fluid everyday carryall. Snap buttons at the base allow the silhouette to shift with folds, while the signature white stitch line at the back introduces a discreet Maison code.
Constructed from two sections sewn together, the bag balances deconstructed form with practical functionality. A leather cuff detailed with the numeric logo reinforces the handle, while a button closure secures the opening. Inside, an all-over logo nylon lining is complemented by a snap-fastening pocket and black logo label. The adjustable base construction allows the proportions to transform while retaining the recognizable triangular profile.
