Huron: Willy Chavarria's Most Personal Collection Yet

For Spring/Summer 2026, Willy Chavarria returned to his roots. Named after his hometown of Huron in California's Central Valley, the collection explored personal history through oversized tailoring, political symbolism, and some of the strongest silhouettes shown during the season. As fashion increasingly looks for meaning beyond aesthetics, Chavarria continues to prove why he is one of the industry's most influential voices.

For Fall/Winter 2025, Louis-Gabriel Nouchi turns to George Orwell’s 1984 — a story of control, conformity, and quiet rebellion — as a mirror for our time. His latest collection, “1984”, transforms that tension into a wardrobe that feels both protective and provocative.

Tailoring meets intimacy. Precision meets vulnerability. Within this duality, structured coats, lingerie-inspired layering, and architectural silhouettes become reflections of identity in flux. Every cut asks the same question: What do we choose to reveal?

Huron: A Personal Story Told Through Fashion

The title Huron references the small agricultural town where Willy Chavarria grew up, but the collection extended far beyond autobiography. Themes of belonging, identity, visibility, and community ran throughout the show.

The opening sequence immediately established the tone. Models wearing identical ACLU T-shirts referenced ongoing conversations surrounding immigration, deportation policies, and civil rights. Rather than treating fashion and politics as separate worlds, Chavarria continues to use the runway as a platform for both design and dialogue.

What made the presentation particularly effective was its balance. The message never overshadowed the clothes, and the clothes never diluted the message.

Why Willy Chavarria Matters Right Now

Willy Chavarria's signature silhouettes have become instantly recognizable within contemporary menswear, and SS26 refined them even further.

Broad shoulders, elongated jackets, oversized trousers, and references to traditional Chicano zoot suits formed the backbone of the collection. Italian tailoring techniques brought structure and precision, while the exaggerated proportions maintained the ease and confidence that define the brand.

Colour played an important role throughout the runway. Shades of Papaya orange, Chicle pink, Butter yellow, Bourdin blue, and Red Hot red interrupted the monochrome looks and introduced moments of optimism and energy.

Alongside the tailoring, luxurious leather pieces stood out as key statements. Oversized jackets, trench-inspired coats, and the now-iconic Bad Boy leather trousers reinforced the collection's sense of strength and presence.

    The Designer Behind

Willy Chavarria is an American fashion designer known for merging luxury tailoring with Chicano culture, sportswear influences, and social commentary. Raised in Huron, California, he launched his namesake label in 2015 after years working within the American fashion industry.

Today, Chavarria is recognised for his oversized silhouettes, powerful runway presentations, and commitment to representing underrepresented communities through fashion. His work has earned multiple industry awards and attracted a global following that includes artists, athletes, and cultural leaders.

Through every collection, Chavarria continues to challenge traditional ideas of American luxury while building one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary fashion.
